The two most widely used scales are Fahrenheit and Celsius. The Fahrenheit scale was developed by physicist Gabriel Fahrenheit from 1708 to 1724 . It is mostly used in the United States, while the Celsius scale is use throughout the rest of the world. The Celsius scale was developed by Swedish astronomer Ander Celsius (1701-1744) in 1741.
There is one more scale, the Kelvin scale introduced in 1848 by Brirish scientist William Thompson, Lord Kelvin (1824 – 1907), This scale is used primarily by scientists.
To convert degrees F to degrees C, subtract 32 degrees from the F temperature and then multiply by 5/9
