Support Questions
- Why should I use DRYDAY® forecasts?
Use DRYDAY® forecasts to plan all of your weather sensitive activities. Using these forecasts will greatly increase your odds in choosing a day without rain or snow.
- How do I use the forecast to plan my activities?
The height of the bar represents the percentage risk of rain (or snow). Therefore, plan your activity on the lowest DRYDAY® day (gold bars), as far away from risky days as possible. If there are no DRYDAY® days in the forecast, choose the lowest bar possible or plan during another period.
- Do you forecast for my location?
You can select from over 1.2 million cities in 183 countries. Be sure to select the correct country before attempting a search. If you are unable to find a specific city for a country we support, please feel free to contact us.
- How accurate are the forecasts?
While no weather forecast is perfect, DRYDAY® forecasts have been shown to be up to 85% accurate in identifying dry periods in the weather.
- How do DRYDAY® forecasts differ from traditional weather forecasts?
DRYDAY® forecasts are designed to forecast dry days, days in which there is little risk for rain/snow. They do not forecast when it will rain/snow, or how much rain (or snow) will occur. Unlike traditional forecasts, DRYDAY® forecasts are long range and never change.
- Should I expect rain (or snow) on the risky days (black bars)?
No. The black bars represent a higher risk of rain/snow but they are not rain (or snow) forecasts. If it does rain (or snow) during the month expect most of the percipitation to occur on the risky days. Don't expect rain (or snow) on every risky day. DRYDAY® forecasts are designed to help you plan activities away from the rain or snow.
- After installing the app, nothing happens. What should I do?
Try deleting the icon and then reinstalling from iTunes. You can also try restarting your iPhone/iPad. Please contact us if you need additional help.
- The forecast doesn’t refresh, what should I do?
This is a known issue from a past version. Please update the application to the current version. Once updated, it will take up to 24 hours for the forecasts to start refreshing. They will then refresh daily (as long as you are connected to the Internet).
- How do I add additional locations?
Make sure your device is in portrait mode (not rotated sideways). From the forecast page, use the bookmark button in the upper right. Once at the bookmarks page, use the plus button to find and add new locations.
Legend
DRYDAY® Days
Plan your weather sensitive activites on these days for the least risk of rain or snow. The forecasts won't be perfect, but you will enjoy very favorable odds over the long term.
Transition Days
These days remind you to try to avoid RISKY days by more than 24 hours whenever possible. Planning a minimum of 24 hours away from RISKY days has been shown to maximize the forecast accuracy.
RISKY Days
If rain (or snow) does fall in the month, expect most of it to fall on the risky days. These are not rain/snow forecasts, but weak spots in the month which would more easily allow passage of a storm through the area.
Bar Height
The height of the bars represents the percentage risk associated with each day. In general, the lower the percentage risk, the more likely a day will be dry.
