The National Weather Service and most other longer range agencies update their forecasts regularly making them undesirable for planning purposes. This is because they generally use progression formulas with the current weather conditions. As the current conditions change, so does the output of their forecast. By the very nature of this type forecasting, accuracy decreases the further out the forecast goes.
